FotoFusion Update--It's official, Rolando will sit as a panelist with noted photographers Robert Farber, Nancy Brown, Douglas Dubler and moderation by Calabassas editor Rose Cefalu. Rolando will also have a three-hour workshop on the beach with models in addition to conducting portfolio reviews and his acclaimed Lighting Master seminar, The Art of Lighting for Impact! Rolando recently spoke at Photo Plus Expo as a Lighting Master, his seminar was in the top three most attended this year, out of 99 total speakers!

Rangerfinder magazine makes Rolando their Sept. 06 cover story. Rangefinder is known as the official host of WPPI, Wedding and Portrait Photographers International, an event not to be missed!

Amherst Media confirms that Rolando's first book, Garage Glamour : Digital Nude and Beauty Photography Made Simple went to a second printing--the first printing sold out the first week in distribution! Rolando has sent the publisher the manuscript and photos for his next book, Glamour Photography Professional Techniques and Images due out in early 2007. More books are in the works as Rolando completes his fine-art book, One Light, One Chair and Photographic Therapy as well as more glamour photography books for Amherst Media.

FotoFusion confirms Rolando for the Jan. 16-20, 2007 annual event. Rolando had huge success at FotoFusion 2006 which prompted his return. This year he'll not only conduct portfolio reviews, lectures and seminars, but he'll also sit on a panel session.

Palm Beach Photographic Center releases dates, Feb. 23-25, 2007, for Rolando's return of his 3-day workshop in Del Ray Beach, Florida. His 2006 The Art of Lighting for Impact workshop was a great success.

PDN's Photo Plus Expo announces Rolando as a Lighting Master Speaker for the Nov. 2006 show. This will be Rolando's third, consecutive appearance at the annual event. Photo Plus Expo (PPE) is the top world event for photographers each year, attracting over 24,000 photographers in 2005 alone. This year PPE is being touted as "the" Photography and Design Conference with imagery & design seminars, plus hands-on workshops, a trade show floor and various keynote speakers.

In 2005 Rolando was one of only nine Lighting Masters and his seminar was the second most attended seminar for the entire show, out of 99. Rolando promises more this year with an updated and revised seminar which includes topics from his newest book, The Art of Lighting for Impact for Glamour Photography (Spring 2007) and One Light, One Chair (Spring 2007) and he'll feature live lighting demonstrations with Playboy Playmate Holley A. Dorrough. Look for Rolando's seminar from 3:45 to 5:45 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3rd.

The Julia Dean Photo Workshops hosted Rolando in July for a special three-day workshop. Rolando will be teaching in 2007 for the Julia Dean Workshops.

Studio Photography & Design (Feb. 2006) features a two-page article and images, of Rolando's work, that focuses on book publishing. The April issue will have an article wrapping up the Photo Marketing Association trade show in Orlando. Rolando attended the February show with Playboy Playmate Holley Dorrough and he also wrote and article, The Pros Perspective for the PMA Daily magazine.

Leica Inks Rolando as one of their newest photographers. Look for new images that will showcase his work in various magazines, books, websites and more featuring the Leica R-system that allows both analog and digital photography from the same camera and lenses. Leica is the choice of many top celebrities and top photographers. Rolando works with both Leica and Olympus camera systems.

Studio Photography & Design (Jan. 2006) features a hot travel tip page and showcases Lightware cargo cases. The Feb. 2006 issue features another two-page spread of Rolando's work, an article that focuses on book publishing. Rolando is a contributing writer for SP&D.

Photo Plus Expo is a hit for Rolando as his "Lighting Masters" seminar for The Art of Lighting for Impact--Make Thousands with the Glamour Attitude! ranked second in attendance out of 99 workshops during the expo. A total of over 200-plus attendees were there ensuring one of the strongest turnouts for the expo.

Studio Photography & Design (Oct. 2005) features another two-page spread of Rolando's work, shot with a new camera, this article focuses on white-balance techniques. Previous work in SP&D include a Hurricane Katrina image in the Sept. 2005 issue and a two-page article with photos in the Aug. 2005 issue.

Rolando is Florida bound four times for 2006. Fotofusion 2006 in January, Palm Beach Photographic Center in March and Light Pro Expo Captiva Island in September have all confirmed Rolando as their newest speaker/instructor. You'll also find Rolando at the annual Photo Marketing Association tradeshow in Orlando in February.

Virgin Islands workshops sell-out fast! Ten photographers snapped up the first Virgin Islands workshop for this November in less than two-weeks after it's announcement and the second VI workshop scheduled for late April 2006 is already sold-out too. Rolando's Cozumel workshop experienced similar results in 2004. Peter Geller, owner of California Sunbounce showed up at the first Virgin Islands workshop with other VIP's coming to future workshops.

Rolando's longtime friend and Magnum photographer Eli Reed will host Rolando at the University of Texas in Austin as a guest speaker to one of his classes later this year. Eli is also coordinating Rolando's appearance at the NPPA Flying Short Course in Oct. 2005. (more info soon)

Coming to Australia! Yep, that's right, negotiations are now "underway" to go down under, more information soon, so keep checking as we'll be in Sydney in February 2006!

One on One private workshops huge success! The first One on One workshops began in July with a huge success! Six in a row with more coming--all exclusive, all private. Reserve your spot now before the rate increase in September.

San Diego Convention Officials warn Rolando at the Photo Imaging Design Expo that his "The Art of Lighting for Impact" seminar crowd exceeded room capacity. Over 220-plus people packed the convention center room were Rolando spoke and demonstrated his techniques for two hours. Officials threatened to shut down his seminar if more people were allowed to enter due to fire code restrictions. An additional 40 attendees were turned away at the door. This was the second consecutive year Rolando spoke at the Expo to a packed crowd and he's expected to return in 2006 to a larger conference room.

Photo Imaging Design Expo showguide & magazine featured Rolando's article, Find, See and Feel the Light along with four of his images. Rolando is working on more magazine articles for 2005.

Rolando has taught over 1,900 photographers in 72-consecutively sold-out glamour photography workshops in the past 48 months plus five, packed, national speaking engagements. Click the workshop link on the left menu for more information.

Rolando picks up Samy's Camera as his newest sponsor along with Lightware photographic cases. Rolando is working with Hensel Lighting and Olympus to bring his informational lectures to Samy's in-store classrooms, stay tuned for more information.

Lexar Media extends Rolando's Elite Photographer status through 2005. Lexar, the world leader in digital storage solutions for photographers initially selected Rolando as one of their 31 world-wide Elite Photographers in 2003.

Amherst Media and Rolando signed final contracts for Rolando's upcoming photography books. Amherst is one of the largest photography book publishers world-wide. Rolando has published articles in many newspapers and magazines, including Studio Photography & Design.

Playboy Enterprises' Special Editions purchases another set of Images from Rolando, marking the first "all digital" set Rolando has sold to Playboy, a paradigm shift from his previous film shoots sold to Playboy since March 2000 when Rolando's images were the first featured to help launch their on-line Sexy Girls Next Door section featuring Shanha Bolinger. These latest images were all shot with the Olympus E-1 Digital SLR system and Olympus Zuiko lenses.
